UNC,which is committed to the process of constructing the European higher education and research area, is providing courses under the Licence-Master-Doctorate system (so called LMD), organized as follows :
Level Licence (Undergraduate-Bachelor) - 3 years (1st cycle, general and professional), in three broad fields :
Each LMD degree is based on several semesters, each semester being validated for 30 credit points (so called ECTS : European Credit Transfer System). Licence degree is made of 6 semesters (ie 180 credit points for a Bachelor’s degree).
An ECTS unit measures work done by students and is recognised by all European universities. Students can gain credit points in a foreign country and then, if those credits are validated, come back in their home university to continue their studies and receive a degree.
For European students access to the UNC is facilitated, as ECTS units can be fully validated.
Non European students should be aware that exchange time in the university will only be accepted with an official transcript (diploma and degree evidence) from home university. Students must absolutely prepare their attendance to courses with professors/advisers/tutors from their home university in order to validate some units, even if not in LMD system.
All Bachelor courses offer the possibility of pursuing studies at Master level (research or professional).
